San Cristóbal and Puerto Escondido, Mexico

Flashback: Mexico.

The last two stories for this year's flashback come from Mexico, an amazing country where I lived for nearly six months. My time in Mexico was a mix of the most difficult times in the year, and some of the happiest and most fun.

My time there changed the way I saw sickness, scary monsters, and success. Here are my favorite two stories.

Explosive Diarrhea is Awesome Did I seriously write that as a title? Yes. But after a full month of intense sickness in San Cristobal, I really meant it. And I learned something amazing about life. Yes, it's a crazy title, but trust me, it's worth the read. Read it here.

Surfing and Success After San Cristobal, I moved to Puerto Escondido, on the Western coast of Mexico, to get some sun and recharge.

I learned to surf there. I also learned something really surprising and transformative about what success is really like. Read it here.

That's it for the flashbacks! Your regularly scheduled letter will be back next week.

If you've got a minute, drop me a reply and let me know what you thought about the flashbacks, if it's something that I should do again next year, and what was your favorite story of the bunch.

Have a wonderful week. :)

-Steven

p.s. The best thing I saw all week was this story about life, mental illness, and the distance of 365 days. It will break your heart and give you hope all at once.
