September in Tōkyo

I’m trying something a bit different this week, to communicate a bit of what it’s felt and looked like to be here, in my first weeks here.

p.s. The best thing I saw all week was the inimitable Jon Batiste playing Für Elise. It sounds a whole lot different (and better) than my recital when I was 8, I'll tell you that. 🤣
